Projects in the works

Our diverse team is always ready for new and challenging opportunities.  We are excited to announce projects on the horizon at JDR Engineering.

Just to name a few....

  • JANESVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT, SECURE PASSWAY
The Janesville School District will have an upgraded and secure pathway system for each of the district’s academic buildings and district office by fall 2022. Each school building requires a different response to update and enhance security measures to better protect students and staff.

JDR is providing design engineering to the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems to accommodate the upgraded and enhanced systems required. Electrical design includes power connections for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, emergency egress lighting, interior lighting, modification to fire alarm system/devices within the areas of the renovation as necessary, voice/data systems, and card access systems. HVAC design includes replacement of HVAC systems and modifications of existing systems to accommodate secure pathway/office reconfigurations. Plumbing design includes new support space restrooms and sinks to accommodate secure pathway/office reconfiguration.
  • THE GARDENS RESIDENTIAL CARE APARTMENT COMPLEX
The Gardens Retirement Community is a 10-story tower overlooking the Hilldale shopping district and is classified as both a Community-Based Residential Facility (CBRF) and Residential Care Apartment Complex (RCAC). The newly renovated facility includes 30 CBRF and memory care units and 65 RCAC units.

While assisting the design-build contractor, JDR performed extensive code research to the the exisitng CBRF and RCAC facility to current code requirements. Field verification of existing building heating and cooling system was performed to determine viability of existing equipment to determine whether they could be re-used within the renovated building scope. New fan coil units were provided with updated controls to provide the new tenants with better occupant comfort while also providing more efficient units.
